Usher's Ex-Wife Tameka Foster Files for Custody of Sons

Tameka Foster isn't happy with ex-husband Usher following their firstborn son's scary pool accident. The 42-year-old celebrity stylist filed legal documents in Fulton County, Ga., asking for an emergency custody hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

According to TMZ, Foster, 42, is demanding custody of their sons, Usher Raymond V, 5, and Naviyd Ely Raymond, 4. She claims that Usher, 34, who currently has primary custody, is allowing other unfit people to care for their children, thereby and creating an unsafe environment. (Usher filed for divorce from Foster in June 2009 after nearly two years of marriage. Since then, the two have had an ongoing, heated custody battle over their children.)

The filing comes one day after their son Usher was hospitalized after nearly drowning in the singer's pool on Aug. 5. TMZ reported that the little boy got his arm stuck in the drain while being watched by his aunt. After struggling to free his arm, he was given CPR and admitted to the intensive care unit. Usher was not home at the time, but arrived in time to ride in the ambulance with his son.

In July 2012, Foster's 11-year-old son Kile Glover, Usher's stepson, was fatally struck in the head by a jet ski. "I'm still in shock," Foster told Entertainment Tonight in September 2012. "I think this will probably be the greatest pain I will ever experience, losing him. But, it gave me strength beyond measure and it made me determined to fight for my other [children]."

Tinubu To Undergo Orthopedic Surgery

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the former Governor of Lagos State and a leading founder of the All Progressives Congress, has been absent from public engagements in the past few days because of health issues, the Tinubu Media Office has said.

“Based on previous sports injury on one of his knees and recent further aggravation on the knee from rigorous political and family related activities, he has been advised by his Doctors, despite his persistent reluctance that orthopedic surgery is necessary at this time,” the brief statement said today.

The surgery will take place this week, and Tinubu will resume normal political activities and public engagements once cleared by his doctors.

The statement did not say where the procedure will take place.

Man charged for rejoicing after bomb blast in Kano

Muhammad Yusuf, was on Friday, arraigned before the Sabon Gari Shari’a Court, for reportedly jubilating “in the presence of a large crowd”, after he came back from the scene of a recent bomb blast in Kano state.

Yusuf was charged with inciting and disturbing public peace.

Chairman of Gidan Boss Mechanics, Lawan Hassan, who reported the matter at the Fagge Divisional Police Station, accused Yusuf of celebrating openly, when he returned from the scene of two bomb blasts, in which 24 people died and many others were injured.

NDLEA Discovers Abandoned Cocaine At Lagos Airport

Few weeks after officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) discovered 5.9kg of abandoned cocaine inside industrial equipment, another cocaine shipment has been abandoned at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.

The cocaine which weighed 4.6kg was hidden inside flasks packed with baby items. Like the first consignment, it originated from Panama, Central America on board a KLM flight.

The Agency also arrested four suspected drug traffickers who were found with narcotics.

A total seizure of 12.455kg of cocaine with an estimated street value of N137 million was made. NDLEA chairman, Ahmadu Giade disclosed that the abandoned cocaine and other arrests have shown that drug traffickers are having difficulties bringing in their drugs into the country.

According to the NDLEA Airport commander, Mr Hamza Umar, the names of the four alleged suspects are Onwuegbuaku Okechukwu Anselm, 35, Ifediora Romanus Obunike, 26, Ohaebosun Nickolas, 28, and Nwabueze Emmanuel Kansiriyochukwu, 31.

He rapes me when I’m not in the mood – Wife

A customary court in Igando, Lagos, Thursday, dissolved a nine-year-old marriage between Emmaunel Adegbola and his wife, Olufunke, on grounds of infidelity by the woman.

Olufunke, however, also accused her estranged husband of always raping her anytime she was not in the mood to make love.

The court President, Mr R. I. Adeyeri, said it appeared that the estranged couple was tired of the marriage and that efforts to reconcile both parties had failed.

“Since both parties consented to the dissolution of the marriage, the court has no choice than to dissolve the union.

“Both parties are no longer husband and wife, they are free to go their separate ways,”he said.

Adeyeri ruled that the issue of custody of their four children, aged between eight years and four years, including a set of twins, should be referred to the family court within the Lagos Judicial Division.

The court president also ordered the petitioner to pay N50,000 as rehabilitation cost to the respondent.

Adegbola, a 63-year-old businessman, had filed the suit on June 26, seeking dissolution of his nine-year-old marriage over infidelity on the part of the wife.

He told the court that his wife was having an affair and that the other man was always coming to his wife’s house whenever he (Adegbola) travelled out of Lagos on business.

“My wife was harbouring her concubine in the house I rented for her; anytime I went there unannounced, I always met the man. My wife was unable to give a satisfactory answer as to the man’s mission in my house.”

He also said that his wife started threatening his business by setting up shop in the same business, close to his business address and was diverting his customers to her shop.

“Initially, I told her that we should start a pure water business together, she told me she was not interested.

“But later, she opened her own pure water business without my consent, snatching all my customers. This is now affecting my own business,” he said.

He also said that his wife was no more cooking for him, as she would complain of tiredness, and “that I should go and cook for myself”.

In her response, response, Olufunke, 40, also a businesswoman, denied the allegations.

She told the court that the man her husband used to see in her house, was her brother and that she was not having an affair with any man.

She said that she was not threatening her husband’s business, and that she set up her own business because her husband was not paying her a salary, but was using her as a slave.

“My husband was only using me as a slave, he was not giving me money: he and his first wife were sharing the proceeds from the business,” she said.

Two human heads found in Onitsha hotel

 Two decomposing human heads were found in a hotel( names withheld) at Onitsha along Old market road by the Anambra State Police Command on Thursday. 

Following a tip off the police were said to have invaded and searched every rooms in the hotel and in the course of the search found the decomposing human heads in a room close to the office of the owner of the hotel. 

Also recovered were two AK47 riffles with loaded magazines and a military cap. Contacted about the military cap, the commander 302 Artillery Cantonment Onitsha, Col. T.A. Gagariga, said that the recovery of the Military regalia did not mean that the soldiers must have been involved as such regalia could be procured in the market. 

Also reacting, the Onitsha Police Area Commander, Mr. Benjamin Wordu confirmed the incident, adding that the suspect with the items recovered had been transferred to the Special Armed Rubbery Squad, SARS, Awkuzu, for further investigation. 

The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Emeka Chukwuemeka when contacted also confirmed the story stating that Police are still investigating.

Ghana Police misses out, as Nigeria debuts at World Police Games

The Ghana Police Service will not be able to represent the country at the 2013 Biennial World Police and Fire Games scheduled to take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland whiles their Nigeria Police Force is to make its first appearance.

Nigeria's Force Spokesperson, Frank Mba, confirmed this on Wednesday that a 34-man contingent, made up of 28 athletes and six officials, led by the Force Planning Committee Chairman, CP Abimbola Macaulay, departed the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos, on Tuesday for Belfast.

“The Nigeria Police contingent arrived in Belfast on Wednesday ahead of the tournament starting on August 1st through 10th” Mba said in a statement.

The biennial World Police and Fire Games is an athletic competition open to police agencies throughout the world.

Athletes from 70 countries are expected at the 2013 Belfast Games and are expected to compete in 66 sporting events, including athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis, combat sports like wrestling, judo and taekwondo.

“The Nigeria Police contingent will feature in eight events, namely -- athletics, badminton, boxing, cycling, golf, judo, table-tennis and taekwondo,” said Mba.

In his goodwill message to the contingent, according to Mba’s press statement, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, charged them to be good ambassadors of not just the Nigeria Police, but the entire nation.

He enjoined them to conduct themselves creditably throughout their stay in Belfast, and further warned them to distance themselves from drugs, as any athlete caught doping will be dealt with accordingly.

The IGP reminded the contingent that the Nigeria Police athletes are not strangers to international sporting events, as some of them have represented Nigeria and made the country proud in similar games like the Commonwealth Games, the All Africa Games, and even the Olympics.

He challenged them to improve on the record of their predecessors by winning more laurels and assured the athletes of a befitting welfare package during the Games. He also promised to reward those who win medals for the force and the country.

The contingent is expected back in the country on August 1.

Special Force Foils Terrorist Regroup In Niger Republic

The plan by a band of terrorists who relocated to Niger Republic to remobilise and re-arm insurgents with the aim of carrying out fresh terrorists attacks on some Nigerian communities has been foiled.
In a press release signed by the Director Defence Information; Brigadier-General Chris Olukolade ,the leader of the group who had fled Nigeria when the terrorist camps were sacked was reportedly recruiting fresh hands, training them for renewed terrorist activities in Nigeria with the intention of focusing its attacks on some towns around the Nigeria-Niger Republic border.
He further added that intelligence operatives of the multi-national joint task force (MJTF) had been on the trail of the leader until he was eventually arrested in Karanga, Niger Republic with the cooperation of Nigerien forces.
His other accomplices were later picked up in other villages in Nigeria and are currently being interrogated.

Comedian Basketmouth Shares Short Story of Himself

 Comedian Basketmouth has finally decided to share short stories about his experience with people while growing in the Nigerian entertainment industry in a series called ‘Before I Write a Book.’.

He plans to write a book eventually so this is a pre-entry to that project, thus, the title. Below is the first story he shares with us.

Back stage at the Rothmans Groove tour which held @ TBS in 1998, there I was seated with the likes of The Plantashun Boiz,Dr. Fresh,Remedies and more…I was just a young boy trying to weigh his options on what direction to go with his career as drumming,rapping,producing and comedy were few of my options.

That night was the 1st time I met Tony Tetuila, one of those humble guys you come by,he was warm and accommodating considering the obvious fact that I was nobody in the industry.

Fast forward a few months later, Comedy had won me over and in the course of my hustle and journey to where I’m yet to get to, I bumped into Tetuila in Festac, just about the time his single ‘you don hit my car’ came out.

We reconnected while playing catch up. We had common friends so ‘bumping’ into each other became a tradition.

The 1st time he saw me perform @ a concert was at a gig The Plantashun Boiz used to host @ the Den in Ikeja. I must have impressed him because not long after that night, I got a call from him asking that we meet up.

We did and he took me for a meeting in Lagos Island (Shell Office).
A director at Shell was retiring and a send-forth party was being held in his honour. My performance fee then was N10,000, Tony pushed it up and convinced the client to pay N30,000 which they paid cash.

Prior to this, they had never heard of me and only used me because Tony believed in me and stood up for me,convincing them to buy in.

I was paid in full a week to the show. After picking up the cash I went straight home. Now here I was, a young comic with his 1st major pay-out of N30,000.

Considering the fact that my 1st performance fee was N300 (1%) of what I had in my pocket,I couldn’t help but to thank God. I got home,gave my mum N25,000 and kept N5,000 from which I bought a shirt,pants and shoes from Tejuosho market to wear for the event.
